I remember Susan as a somewhat older second cousin, very glamorous in her British Airways uniform and with tremendous joie de vivre. I knew her grandmother rather better than Susan herself and Susan was always top topic in her grandmother's conversations. I can remember her grandmother always looking forward to one of Susan's regular visits, bringing tales of exotic happenings. Later on, I remember the proud mother of Amanda, someone for whom family was always important. It's not until she isn't here that I realise what an impact she had on the lives of those who knew her.
